Global Head of A.I. at LePub - voted "The Best Creative Agency in the World" by prestigious rankings. He leads a multi-disciplinary team of creators that produces work that goes beyond advertising. A true believer in cross-cultural exchange, he played an active role at AFS for many years. He is a keynote speaker in various events including TEDx, talking on the impact of A.I., design and bio-mimicry. He is also a member of The Italian Association for Artificial Intelligence (AIxIA).

Apart from writing his bio in third person, he has enjoyed winning over 100 international and local trophies including Italy’s only Innovation Lion, Grand Prix in Golden Drum, etc. He was featured in Fast Company, Beaux Arts Magazine, Lürzer's Archive and numerous other publications. He is an eternal student of the relationship between humans and machines, currently focused on behavioral engineering and synthetic creation.

THE IDEA / The idea was born out of the fact that we make sh**load of mood films per year. I thought a look back to these “masterpieces” can spark a few new ideas within the creative department. And who knows, maybe we can revitalize a few of them, polish them up and reuse the concept. We recycle bottles, plastic, etc. Why not repurpose the most valuable garbage on earth - ideas!

Another important subject I should mention is confidentiality. Now, for example, I would have loved to make this little festival of mine open to the industry and more importantly to students. But safeguarding the intellectual property of the agency and our clients comes first. All I can do is to make all of the promo materials publicly available so agencies, production houses and student clubs can start making their own Mood Films Festivals. THE SMILECRY / The official name of the emoji I got inspired by is Smiling Face with Tear Emoji. I wanted to call mine SmileCry. Emojipedia has this explaination: A face smiling, with a single tear shown. May be used to indicate that one is touched, relieved, or grateful. This can also be used to indicate a certain feeling of smiling through pain. - Emojipedia.org.  I think it is the perfect representative of emotions that goes into creating mood films and creativity in general. The purple tear is about “the loss of purity”.





TROPHY DESIGN / Here is something I don’t get to do every day. Industrial design! I decided that this festival deserves a trophy that is as cool as the films it showcases. The design is finalized and I’m excited about the production phase which should be hell, as expected. But it will be a wonderful learning process. And afterall, this is the goal - to learn and getting better. Every. Day.

THE FINAL DESIGN / Let me tell you about some details that I know you’ll appreciate… I mentioned about the meaning for “SmileCry” figure inspired by the emoji we use every day. The rushed randomness of the stickers really made the design complete in my mind. Just like the mood films it represents, this trophy is quite “effortless” as well.
